What is it, you may ask? Well, here is the story. When I first moved to San Diego, I made a terrific friend. Her name is Jen Petersen. Not long after we met, we knew we had to move in together. So the story begins....
One night before our move-in date, we were out enjoying some cocktails. Out of nowhere I started singing (or more like chanting) "JP BM what what what what, JP BM what what what what". And, for those of you who haven't put it together yet, JP is for Jen P. and BM is for Brooke M. Anyway, the chant stuck and so did our friendship.
Since the good 'ole days of being single, we have managed to move out from living together and both move in with our now boyfriends. Despite the separation, we have remained true friends and have now decided to include these wonderful men into our chant. It took a little while to figure out how we are going to make it work, but it really sounds so beautiful. And, by the way, we all know Dana N. of course, and Jen's boyfriend's name is Carlos R. So, our chant now goes like this "JP BM DN CR, what what what what what what what what".
Our fantastic four have committed to the first Sunday of every month together to make sure that no matter how busy our lives get, we always have that day for each other. We started last Sunday, and we started with a bang. We are looking forward to the days to come.
JP BM DN CR, what what what what what what what what!!!!!!!
This last Monday and Tuesday, Dana and I took a little trip to LA. Dana has friends from Michigan who were on their way to Hawaii to celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary. They decided to break up their trip a little and make a pit stop in Los Angeles, so that we could meet up with them for a day. Since we never make it to the area, we decided to fit in as much as we could in the two days that we were there. We left Monday morning and went to the fashion district so that I could shop for fabrics. I was a little disappointed that I didn't find anything that I liked, but was happy that Dana decided to join me in the adventure and not just drop me off like we planned. The key to keeping him content was to buy him a bacon wrapped hot dog at the Mexican stand and allow him to do whatever you wanted on his iPhone while I looked around. Surprisingly, he was very supportive and didn't complain at all. As soon as I was done with my business, I returned the favor to Dana by joining him in meeting one of his clients whose office is in LA. We visited for a little over an hour about websites, music, and business in general. Then the fun began. We drove over to my college friend, Dana's place. She lives with her boyfriend Edward in a cute apartment in Marine del Ray. We all went out and had some amazing sushi, picked up some wine, and then spent the rest of the night listening to music, talking, and drinking at the apartment. It had been a while since we've all been together, so we ended up staying up really late, we just didn't want it to end. In the morning, we left them and went to pick up Marty and Monica (the couple who were on their way to Hawaii) and spent the day sightseeing, eating, and hanging out. It was nice to catch up with them and see how happy they are at 10 years of marriage. They gave us a few pointers for our future marriage. Check out our pics below: (1) The group--look close between Monica and I and you will see the Hollywood sign. (2) Dana and Monica enjoying the Pacific Ocean water at Venice Beach. Dana and I had a great weekend. It was the first Sunday of the month, which meant a double date with our friends, Jen and Carlos. Since we hung at our house last time, they decided to take the reigns and plan a surprise day near their house. It was very eventful, to say the least. We first drove to this hidden gem called "Queen Califia's Magical Circle", which were these huge mosaic sculptures hidden in the middle of this park. You wouldn't know it was there unless someone told you about it. We played around, taking pictures, and absorbing the art. Then, we continued our journey at the Orfila Wine Vineyard. We tasted some great wine, and didn't want to stop there, so we bought cheese, bread, and a glass of wine to enjoy while sitting outside, talking and teasing each other. Good laughs for sure. Then, while that was suppose to be the end, but we decided we just couldn't stop. So, we drove over to a local bar, First Street, where our friend, Megan works. We had a beer and said hi, only to continue onward. We rented a movie, went back to Jen and Los's and we all slept through the whole thing (well, everyone but Dana) and then our night ended. Good times with Great Friends :)
Over the weekend, Dana and I were planning to go watch the Chargers play the Patriots at Qualcomm stadium. Since Dana likes to use me as arm candy (hahaha), he told me that he wanted me to get all dolled up for the game. My friend and I came up with the great idea that I wear something really inappropriate for the game to teach him to be careful what he asks for. I planned to wear a cocktail dress with some strappy wedge sandals and super glam makeup. But, to my suprise when I woke up Sunday morning, there was a box awaiting me. I opened it and inside was a new Ladanian Tomlinson Chargers Jersey! Of course, Dana got a Phillip Rivers (Shit-Talkin White Boy he calls him) jersey for himself. While the tickets for the game fell through, we still were excited to watch the game. We went to Gordon Beirsh, called some friends to meet up, ate good food, drank good beer, and watched the Chargers kick some butt.
