Hip Hop Bunny Day

Yesterday, was a beautiful Easter holiday for our family.  It started off far too early in the morning, but I guess that was to be expected.  Eva opened the door from the hallway into the kitchen and discovered that there were bunny tracks leading from the door to the outdoor patio, with 2 bunny baskets full of goodies facing her and Enzo.  One was packed with all things pink and the other with trucks and cars.  They both knew right away which one was which.  The Easter bunny additionally hid a second basket for each, which they found in the house, then they were guided to a little egg hunt outside.  This was Enzo's first ever egg hunt, and he knew just what to do...

And of course, after collecting them all, the kids went inside to open up all the goodies and try to eat them all at once.  Talk about sugar overload...

Soon after, Eva was begging to put on the Easter dress Granny got her.  Granny gave it to her when we were visiting in Minnesota, and Eva has basically told me every single day since then that she will be wearing that dress for "Hip Hop Bunny Day" (as she calls it).  She jumped right in her dress, brushed her teeth, found the sparkliest shoes, put on some lip gloss, looked in the mirror and said "I am sooo beautiful!".  She then asked me to dress Enzo like a prince and we snapped a quick pic...

Then we made our rounds through the neighborhood, so they could wish everyone a Happy Easter.  We saw Frank and Vera outside, so the kids got bunny hugs from them...

Then we went to Auntie Vonnie's, where she hid chocolate bunnies for them to find, and gave them lots of love before we carried on with our day...

Back at home Eva was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her cousins, while Enzo took his new trucks to the back gate and literally played in the exact same place for over an hour (with only one shoe on)...

We recently discovered Enzo's love for matchbox cars after a visit from our friends, Mike and Miranda, who also have a matchbox lovin' son.  They told us about the love he had for them, and instantly Dana's eyes lit up and he started reminiscing about his own childhood love for the cars and trucks.  As soon as we got back home, he gave Enzo two matchbox Broncos he has collected over the last few years, to find that Enzo would not let go of them.  A chip off the old block?  You could certainly say so.

Anyway, back to Easter.  As usual, Dana prepared the meat (a very scrumptious ham)...

The kids played together...

...Enzo loved trying on Kierce's hat (and he looked pretty darn cute in it, I might add)...

And at the end of the day, we attempted a family pic.  This was the best we could do...

We hope you all had a beautiful day as well!!
