Our 2014 Visit With Granny

For the last two weeks, we have been spending time getting spoiled with love, toys, and attention from Granny.  As soon as Granny's plane landed, we got right down to business: toy shopping.  Eva got new Frozen dolls and Enzo got a new bike.  Then, back home we went to find ways to cool down until the sun set (it was in the 90's all day).  The kids naturally gravitated to the water table, which we love to sit in, then they coaxed Granny over to get a look at them, them surprised her with a splash!

Once Daddy got home from work, he put together Enzo's new bike.  He was so excited to ride it!!

Then Granny rocked with her grandbabies until it was time for bed...

On Granny's first full day here, Eva had school in the morning, so Enzo got Granny all to himself.  On our way home from dropping Eva off, we drove past all the tractors working on the roads by our house.  Granny excitedly took Enzo to go watch them work.  (She sure knows how to get to this little guy's heart!)

It was way too hot to be outside for much more than that, so they came home after the tractors to play with stickers inside...

The next day was Granny's birthday.  Ironically, she spent the day spoiling the kids with new clothes and toys, but she claimed that was exactly how she wanted to spend her birthday.  We knew deep down that couldn't possibly be satisfying, so we surprised Granny with a gigantic chocolate birthday cake after dinner.

When morning came, we had to celebrate with cake one more time because Enzo had fallen asleep before cake the night before.  We sang, blew out a candle, then dove right in for round 2!

The next 5 days are pictureless because Dana and I were busy on our kid-free vacation, while Granny manned the house and all of the responsibilities that come with it.  But once Dana and I got back, we were back at it.  This time, we were also greeted with 2 more visitors!  My cousin Jennifer and her husband, Sean, came out for a week for their anniversary.  They spent lots of alone time on the beach, then met up with us for the last few days of their trip.  It was so nice to have us all together!  We spent one morning showing everyone around the zoo and making them pose by our favorite photo spot...

Dana and I also got a night out with Jennifer and Sean while Granny stayed home to watch a movie and eat popcorn with Eva and Enzo (it was a win for everyone).

As the trip was coming to an end, Granny made sure to squeeze in every ounce of time she could get with her little babes.  She showed them how to bead...

And read every last book the kids wanted her to read...

In the end, I think everyone enjoyed their visits and we were all sad to say good-bye.  It always makes it easier that right before Jennifer, Sean, and my mom left, we planned for their next visits out here.  So now, the countdown begins for next time!
