Thanksgiving 2014 and Baby Bellies!

This Thanksgiving was quite different than ones we have had in the last few years.  We typically have quite a housefull, which we always love and welcome, but this year was quiet, relaxed and very, very enjoyable.  We had two families, who our good friends of ours, join us for a day of eating lots, enjoying some adult conversation, and letting the kids run wild with excitement for each other and all the fun things they could get into together.

Before the day started, Eva was my little helper getting everything ready.  But, when I say "little", I'm only referring to her size, because she was a BIG help.  We set the tables with tablecloths, place settings, and flower centerpieces (she set the kids table all by herself!), and got all the food ready...

When everyone arrived, the adults grabbed their drink of choice and relaxed, while the kids jumped from one thing to another.  Meadow was in love with the chickens and was able to catch pretty much whatever one she wanted to carry around.  She must be a chicken whisperer because they were totally ok with it...

Enzo jumped around from playing with the big kids, to entertaining little Luna.  Oh my gosh, you guys, you have never seen anything cuter!  He was jumping around and dancing and showing her how to use the toys, he was teaching her how to squeeze her nose and giggle.  He was just so gentle and patient and he gave her so much time!  Luna's mommy and I soaked in every second of it, while our hearts melted away with their budding friendship.

The bigger kids ran around and looked for every adventure they could find.  They ended the night with a wagon ride, then letting the wagon transform into a diving board, with which they all repeatedly jumped off into the grass until their little legs just couldn't take it any more.

It was definitely a change for us to be without Heather and Ryan's family, but the good thing is that Eva has been keeping up with her word to video chat with her cousins whenever she gets the chance.  Both Eva and Enzo love their new way of communicating with them and look forward to every opportunity...

While I realize the below portion of the post doesn't really pertain to our Turkey Day, I had to add it because who doesn't like updated belly shots?

Last weekend, I went to my good friend, Dalina's baby shower.  She is due just a month before me with her first baby and it's going to be a little girl!  This is really fun because Dalina and I share the same birthday and we are due so close to our day.  Plus, I am pregnant with a friend!

Before I left, Eva wanted us to get some pictures together with her soon-to-be baby brother.

And then I went to enjoy a kid-free, girls only day, celebrating my beautiful friend and her baby girl on the way!
