Me llamo Rocky

Playtime!

This last week has been filled with lots of fun for our family.  On Wednesday, I took the kids to Seaworld to visit Snow World one more time before all the school kids were out for break and took over the park.  It was a great day to go.  There were barely any people, which makes it stress-free for me and line-free for the kids...

While we were there, Enzo got to meet Elmo for the first time.  It was so cute, Eva and I weren't sure what he would do, but since there was no line to wait and see him, Elmo took alot of time making Enzo feel comfortable.  He started off with some high-fives, then held Enzo's hand and walk around, then some hugs, and then some pictures.  Enzo loved the attention he got and Eva loved assisting Elmo in making Enzo feel special...

The next day was Enzo and my "date day".  We decided to check out Balboa's Park's Aero Space Museum.  Enzo loved looking at every single real and model plane there was.  He tends to call them all helicopters, not yet deciphering the difference, but they all fly, nonetheless, so they are pretty darn cool.  Here we are before we entered the model planes area...

And soon we found out that the museum had so much interactive toys, screens, a movie theater, and a simlulation room.  We had no problem spending our whole more morning there.  Say hello to Pilot Enzo!

Enzo and I weren't the only ones to squeeze in a date.  That night, Dana and I attended his company Christmas party.  It was a fun night to get away and have some adult holiday fun.  Although, most of the night I found myself talking to other parents about the stinkin' Elf on the Shelf for a majority of the night.  That thing sure gets alot of attention!

Later in the weekend, Eva got her chance at a date as well.  While I was putting Enzo down for his nap and also decided to take it easy myself, Daddy swooped Eva up (literally!  He didn't even give her a chance to put shoes on!), buckled her into the Bronco, and the two of them spent the next couple hours having fun together.  They rode around town in the Bronco, then took a pit stop at City Farmers Nursery, or "Old McDonalds" as Eva calls it, where she was allowed to run around barefoot and be goofy with Daddy...

On Friday morning, our elf, Butterfly, was found riding a toy Christmas train that we have and presented us with tickets to ride a real train that night where we would pick Santa up from the North Pole and ride back to the train station with him.  This is something Dana has been wanting to do since we have had Eva, but the tickets are always sold out.  This year we thought months ahead and just barely got in for the ride.  As soon as we arrived at the train station, we got our tickets...

Took some advice about our upcoming journey from a "Hobo"...

Then started our ride, where we were greeted with Elves, cookies, and hot chocolate.  Once we got to the North Pole, we spotted Santa on the side of the tracks, cozy by a fire, waiting for us to pick him up.  He hopped on the train, then took turns with each family to sit for a picture and a quick exchange of words.  Being that Eva freaked out about Santa at two years old, we weren't sure how Enzo was going to take it, especially since he has much more of a shy side than Eva, but he loved him! The second he spotted Santa getting onto the train, he was beaming...

He waited patiently in his seat for his turn to sit next to the big guy, but while he waited he kept that smile on his face and continuously waved, saying "Hi Santa." in the sweetness little voice until it was his turn.  Once Santa got to us, Enzo just couldn't stop looking at him.  Eva, on the other hand, was the shy one and was scared to talk to him because she was really nervous that Butterfly (our elf) had already sent him the report that she had been bad that day.  Once she realized he wasn't aware of her bad behavior, she warmed up and told him she wanted her Grandma and Grandpa to visit her for Christmas...

The rest of the train ride was spent singing Christmas songs, which Eva just loved.  She wanted to learn them all.  It was a really fun night and watching the expressions on Eva and Enzo's faces was the exact thing our hearts needed.

On Sunday, to wrap up our holiday weekend, the kids and I made made cut-out sugar cookies.  Enzo didn't do so well in the "help" department, for he thought the cookie dough was suppose to be a race track for his matchbox cars, but Eva was great at helping me mix all the ingredients and do all the cutouts...

After they baked and cooled, it was icing time, which both of the kids did an amazing job at.  Enzo's hand was a little heavy on the sprinkles, but both kids were creative and had fun making each cookie special...

I cannot believe Christmas is just 3 days away!
