Two Weeks Away!!

I am less than 2 weeks away to holding this little baby boy in my arms, no longer in my belly!

My body and I have really been feeling the pain of this last month.  I am so incredibly tired that doing anything other than keeping my family alive and well is pretty much out of the question.  I've also had a couple days where I felt 2 or 3 contractions that were quite strong and was lead to believe I was headed in the direction of labor, but when nothing happened after that I knew it was just the baby getting ready and not to come too early.

I had a check up with my midwife today.  We heard baby's healthy heartbeat, verified that his head is down and ready for birth, and had a rough estimate of his size.  Just a month ago, he was measuring big, but today she said that he is feeling pretty small and baby be our smallest baby yet!  Of course, at this point, it is all a guessing game, so we won't know until he is born.  She also checked my cervix and found that I am dialated to 1 cm and 50% effaced, which I remember being the same with both of the other kids at this check up, so baby will more than likely wait around until closer to his due date.

The kids are very eager for his arrival, talking more and more about him every day.  Eva's plan to see him in the hospital is becoming more and more detailed the closer we get.  She has been specific about where each of us will be and what we will be doing, how she is getting to the hospital, and what she will do when she walks into our room.  Enzo talks alot about his baby brother and what things belong to him, where he will sleep, which diapers he will use, and whether or not he will have eyes.

I have many close friends who have been very supportive through these last couple weeks, being on-call and willing to stop what they are doing in case of an emergency early labor situation.  To say that their love has been appreciated would just be an understatement.  We feel so loved and supported, it really helps give us a huge sense of calm during such an exciting and emotional time in this journey.
