Gone Bananas!

Gone Bananas!

For as long as I have known Dana, I've always known that he has had the dream to be so self sufficient that we would never need to rely on anything except whatever grows in our own backyard.  Since we don't own our house right now, we aren't able to turn half our yard into a garden, but Dana has done what he can to add a few fruit trees here and there.  After planting a lemon tree and a lime tree, Dana thought he would attempt a banana tree.  He planted it within the first 3 months of moving into this house (we've been here 2 years and 3 months now).  We watched this tree outgrow the house within the first 6 months, it grew so fast!  Over this last summer, we realized it was growing too much and started to take over one side of our house.  Dana decided to trim it down a bit....then, yesterday, he noticed that we have bunches of bananas growing!!  How cool is that?

So, if anyone is in the mood for banana bread, banana cream pie (Megan!), banana pancakes, banana ice cream, peanut butter and banana sandwiches, or anything else that can be made out of bananas, you know where to come!  :)  Our door is always open (and P.S.  we are ready for some visitors to start planning their trips out here).
