Our 2015 Family Michigan Trip

A couple weeks ago, our family took a much needed trip to Michigan to be with our family.  It had been almost 4 years since our last visit, so there were some family members who hadn't met Enzo yet, and it was everyone's first time meeting Zander.  We were all so excited for the trip for many different reasons, starting with taking an airplane there.  Enzo, especially, couldn't wait to board the plane and take off.  And, as soon as Eva boarded the plane, she made a special request to the pilot to "Please go fast because I have cousins to see!".  The pilot gave her a thumbs up and got us there at the perfect time.

Once we got to Michigan, there was so much going on, so many reunions, and best yet, many, many pictures taken to capture all the moments.  I can't even begin to narrate our whole trip, so I am going to do my best to share just a few of the highlights.

First, we got to see Grandma and Grandpa and sleep at their house for 9 nights!  They were the best, most loving hosts!

The Aunts and Uncles got to get their baby love in...

On one of the first nights, Ryan arranged a guy's night, taking them to Ann Arbor for some beer sampling, salty-snacky food eating, and guy talk...

...while the kids and moms stayed behind to hang with each other at the house.

On another night, Aunt Susan, Uncle Bruce, and Aunt Nancy came for dinner, and of course to see us and meet the little ones!!

We took one day to visit Henry Ford's Greenfield Village with Grandma and Grandpa.  It was so much fun!  We got to ride on a train, play, ride the carousel, eat custard, and enjoy the beautiful day together.

We took another day to visit Grandma Long...

We attended an authentic Redneck Wedding in Aunt Joann's backyard, where the kids got a real tractor ride chauffeured by their favorite cousin, Lorie...

On the 4th of July, we decided to stay at the house and be low-key, until Dana, Kierce, and Eva decided to take a trip to the Fireworks store, where they came back with a full-on fire production for our own personal entertainment.  It was great!  The kids got to play with sparklers and Dana made big booms and beautiful lights in the sky.

On our trip, it was so nice to see Enzo get attention from his cousins.  Where he is typically the tag-along-sibling here, he got lots of love and direct attention from his big cousins, who looked after him, played so nicely, and really just made him feel so loved (just thinking about it is making me tear up!)...

Eva enjoyed every special moment with each and every one of her cousins as well.  When I asked her what her 3 favorite things from the trip were, her answer was: 1. Playing with her cousins, 2.  Playing in the  pool with her cousins, and 3.  Playing Monster with her cousins, Kierce and yeah, you could say she took advantage of every opportunity to be with them.

Reliving all these memories is pretty tough since it all had to come to an end, but I am so thankful that my wonderful sis, Heather, took so many pictures to allow me to remember it all.  Our family is so happy we took this opportunity to fly to Michigan and really can't wait for the next time we are all together again.
