Our 2015 Summer in a Nutshell

This summer is coming to an end and I don't think I've blogged about any of it.  Juggling three kids and keeping them entertained all summer has been quite challenging and down-right exhausting.  I have to admit, I'm glad it is coming to an end, but I am also so happy that we squeezed in so many fun adventures.  There are so many different things that we did, but I will just highlight on the things that stand out in my mind.

Before summer started, Eva grew a HUGE APPETITE for swimming.  She wants to be the strongest, fastest, best swimmer and so her concentration to accomplish that stood strong all summer long.  She has ditched the floaties for good!  She took a 2 week summer class, graduated to the next level with ease.  Here she is with her teacher, Alyssa, who told me at the end that Eva's class was the funnest class she ever taught.

Since class, Eva has been practicing her distance, diving for toys, and learning how to dive...

Enzo wasn't able to take swim classes this year because you have to be 3 to be without a parent, but it didn't stop us from giving him personal lessons whenever we had pool time.  He isn't comfortable getting his face under the water yet, but can do an amazing back float, and is started to jump in by himself.  If i'm not in the water with him, he is comfortable swimming around with his floaties on.

Every Tuesday since school got out, we went to the beach with one of Eva's school friend's, Hannah, and her mom and sister, Summer.  The kids all played really well together every week.  There was alot of water time (Eva's favorite part)...

and also alot of sand time (Enzo's favorite part)...

We also celebrated Dana's birthday this year with a big beach party with our friends.  It was the best day.  The weather was perfect, there were 5 families who attended, lots of fun, and of course, song and cake, too!  There is no doubt that Dana felt loved and really enjoyed himself...

In the beginning of August, Dana and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary.  It was the perfect day.  It was our first date together leaving all three kids with the babysitter.  We enjoyed lunch on the water, a walk on the boardwalk, a brief visit with some friends, then we ended the date with our infamous traditional gift exchange.  This year, however, rather than gifting each other with Candy (which is the traditional gift), we ventured into a candy store together and bought a bunch of goodies to enjoy...

Our family went on our first camping trip since we've had Zander a couple weeks ago, and of course, it also happened to be the hottest weekend ever, with temps in the high 90's the whole weekend.  Luckily, there were alot of shade trees and we actually really had a good time, despite the heat.  We were one of four families who went, all with kids the same age, so all the kids had a blast together and of course us adults enjoyed our time, too.  One of the mom's, who is always coming up with creative ways to entertain the kids, brought a tie dye kit and had all the kids make their own shirts...

And you can't go camping without S'mores!

My Seaworld pass was about to expire, so the family made one more visit before it was too late.  We had an amazing day, mostly opting to go on rides.  Eva and I went on the Shipwreck Rapids ride for our first time, Eva and Dana ended with the Atlantis water roller coaster, where we all squeezed in a few more rides in between.  Another couple requests made by Eva and met by us were a cotton candy treat and feeding the sea lions (not at the same time, haha)...

Now that summer is coming to an end, we are starting to think about school, finding out who Eva's teachers will be and who will be in her class from last year.  Enzo, Zander, and I will also start thinking about what we will be doing with our time sans Eva.
