In lieu of a birthday party for Eva and Enzo this year, we opted for a family vacation to Disneyland. Being that Granny was visiting for the first half of November, we thought it would work out best to have a 50/50 ration of kids to adults.
On our first morning there, we surprised the kids with a make-over at the Bippiti Boppiti Boutique, where Eva was made into a princess and Enzo, a shining knight. They both loved it and felt really special. Enzo got a mohawk with colorful glitter, and a sword and shield...
Eva got a beautiful tiara and sparkley mickie barrette, along with makeup and nail polish. The best part was that her hair was done so well that she kept in for the rest of the trip!
Of course, when you are dressed like royalty, you must surround yourself with royalty. So, our next stop was to meet some princesses. Sir Enzo and Princess Eva met Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel (who they were most excited to meet)...
Once we were done with all the princess stuff it was time to have fun on all the rides. One of the best things about Disneyland is that there are plenty of rides that the whole family could go on. Our Group Ride-Selfie (Zander is under the black hood):
Our fun wasn't just limited to rides, though. There was so much to look at, with many photo ops along the way...
The highlight for everyone was the Electric Paint the Night Parade. Everything was lit up, all our favorite characters were there, it was just beautiful!
It was well past Zander's bedtime, but even he enjoyed it. There were just so many lights and so much to look at!
Our next day was spent at California Adventure. I was really excited to go here because none of us had ever been, and more importantly, they have an exact replica of Radiator Springs with a Cars ride that had rave reviews. Since Cars is a popular movie in our house, I knew the kids would really love it in person, especially Enzo. I found out just a few days before we got there that there was actually a height restriction on the Cars ride and it was for 40". And guess how tall Enzo was measuring??? 39 1/2"!!! I almost cried, but then realized I was measuring him without shoes and spiky hair. So, when the day came, I kept my fingers crossed and it worked! The ride was so much fun, the whole family loved it (except Zander, who didn't get to try it out). Afterwards, the kids and I got to meet the real Lightning McQueen. They really thought that was cool!
We spent the rest of the day going on all the rides, ate lunch with Disney Princesses, watched the Parade, then wrapped up the night. It was hard to say good-bye...
Before we left to go home, we made one last visit to Downtown Disney to get brunch and browse the stores. Eva was in heaven when she found the Lego store, where she got a little gift to go home and build later.
It was hard to leave Disneyland behind, but we are all so happy we made the trip and had such a great time. Thank you, Granny!!!
