Ever since he took his first step he has been practicing more and more each day. He is now up to eleven steps! I love watching him, because he really understands the balance thing. If he can feel himself start to lose his balance, he will slow down, regroup, then proceed. And when he reaches the end mark, he has the biggest proud smile ever.
Zander is really starting to understand alot. He still can only say "Dada" and "Mama", but when you say things to him, he shows you inn other ways that he really understands. If you say, "Yay!" or "Clap!" he will immediately start clapping. If he finds a comb, brush, or headband, he will try to put it on his head. He rips off his bib almost as quickly as you put it on, then spend the rest of his mealtime trying to put it back on himself.
He loves Eva for her motherly love...
And loves Enzo for showing him the ropes in a "boy's world"...
Zander enjoys thrilling things more than his older siblings did at his age. He loves to get thrown in the air, pushed on a swing, pulled in the wagon, and going on rides...
He LOVES our Little Tykes car. You could push him in it ALL DAY LONG. And when you've had enough, he'll spend the rest of the day opening and closing the door, climbing in and out of it, then pushing it along as a walker...
He discovered the pots and pans cabinet, which now gets a daily visit. It includes lids as cymbals...
Then later, the lids become skates, to help him move all over the place.
This year has been an emotional roller coaster for us San Diegans, when it comes to our Chargers, but Zander didn't seem to care much. He was just excited that he got to dress like Daddy...
When Eva and Enzo are busy making crafts, coloring, or getting into something at the kitchen table, I've been trying to find ways to engage Zander as well. They all involve making quite a bit of a mess...
This year was Zander's debut to our yearly camping trip. He spent most of it in my baby carrier, but he found ways to keep himself happy and explored just enough to be excited about going again next year when he can run around...
I am trying my hardest to slow this little guy down, but he has let me know in more ways than one that he is not going to stop. Next milestone? Celebrating his first birthday... a bittersweet day for me.
