This year, for Eva's birthday, we decided to throw a "Fashion Show" party. Daddy built a runway, Mommy organized the details, and Eva picked the friends to make a super fun day for Eva and all of her friends. All the girls were asked to wear their most fashionable outfits and as they started showing up, they were greeted with a complimentary face painting. They got their picture taken, then had fun with various crafting ideas to make pages for their own fashion magazine, which each girl was highlighted for their own cover...
They also took the opportunity to accessorize their outfits, trying all kinds of different looks, while practicing walking the cat-walk...
Then we played a "Project Runway" game. Four groups got various materials (duct tape, fabric, plastic tableclothes, and tissue paper) and ten minutes to dress a model in an outfit. Then, in the end, each team walked the runway together to see the various outfits they made. We were so impressed with how creative the girls were and how well they worked as a team...
After all the fun, we all sang "Happy Birthday" to Eva with blue donuts (blue being her new favorite color)...
A half hour before the party was done, we asked parents to come back for a fashion show, where most the girls walked the runway in all of their glam for the birthday celebration finale...
It was such a fun way to celebrate Eva's birthday this year!
Of course, we weren't done celebrating once the party was over. Last Saturday was Eva's actual birthday. Granny was with us to help celebrate. We started the morning with pedicures...
We hung out around the house for most of the day, then went to ShoGun's for dinner (Eva's choice!). ShoGuns is a restaurant very similar to Benihanas, where the Chef cooks the food and puts on a little comedy during the act. The chefs act, of course, was all about Eva. He made her feel very special...
At home, we dove into a beautiful cake Eva hand picked from the store, then called it a night.
There is no doubt in my mind that Eva felt very loved on her special day.
