Spring Break 2018

This year we kept really busy during the kids' spring break.  As soon as Eva was out of school, we picked her up with trailer in tow, ready for a weekend camping adventure.  We didn't go far, just a few miles south of our house, to a KOA where we joined a group of friends from Eva's school.  We had a ton of fun with all kinds of different adventures.

The kids swam at the pool, rode the barrel train through the campground, went on a lollipop hunt, rode bikes, roller bladed, played laser tag, and spent endless hours on the big jumpy pillow and playing in the sand...

One of the best take away's from the trip was that Zander learned how to ride his 2-wheeler!  He just said, "Daddy, I want to ride that."  Dana gave him a push and he was off!  He did so many laps and covered so much area on his bike, he literally rode it the entire day...

As soon as the camping weekend was done, we headed home to welcome Auntie Heather, Rowan, Kierce, and Merrick to our house for the rest of the week.  Of course, there was only one way Dana was willing to start their visit off, and that was with Bronco rides for everyone...

And after the adrenaline was released, everyone was hungry for a special treat to their old favorite restaurant, The Brigantine.  We had a scrumptious meal with a great opportunity to start catching up from all our missed time.  All of us girls, snapped a quick shot on our way out....

We had lots of fun adventures packed into just a few short days, maximizing every spare moment.  One of our funnest days was spent in Ocean Beach where they use to live.  We visited the tide pools...

Walked around at the Farmer's Market, and took hoola hooping lessons in the grass right next the beach.  So many talented and interesting people to watch and learn from!

Even with all the go time, though, the kids found plenty of time to relax at the house and just enjoy their cousin-time...

We definitely didn't want the time to end, but we knew it would have to eventually.  We said our good-byes as they headed out on their adventure back home.

Two days later was Easter, and our last day of spring break.  The kids woke up very excited to see if the Easter Bunny paid our house a visit.  Sure enough, the Easter Bunny hid buckets for all the kids in the house...

The buckets were filled with all kinds of goodies to look through...

Then, they ran outside to hunt for eggs!

And right when they thought they reached the end, the Easter Bunny ALSO left baskets for them at Auntie Vonnie's house to find!

It was fun watching the excitement on the kids' faces and it was such a great way to end spring break!
