Family Road Trip - Stop Two

Driving from Morro Bay until our next stop on the road trip was the longest leg of the trip.  But, the views on our drive were amazing!  Snow-capped mountains, beautiful, lush green trees, and the bluest waters I've ever seen.  It made the many hours in the truck well worth it...

On day five, we reached our second destination: Bend, Oregon!  We were greeted at our campsite by our friends, Sarah and Pat with their girls, Meadow and Luna, who Eva and Enzo had been missing so much.  Our reunion was so heartfelt!

Sarah and Pat introduced us to their favorite campground right on Elk Lake.

The kids were busy having so much fun, while the adults got to relax and catch up with lost time.

Eva paddleboarded...

Enzo fished...

And Zander spent his time cuddling up with everyone.  His absolute favorite was when he FINALLY got to meet Baby Indie.  My good friend, Brooke lives in Bend as well, and had a baby in this last year that our family has been dying to meet, Zander especially.  They came out to enjoy a day at the lake, where Zander got all his snuggles in...

One of Dana's sales guys', Chris, also recently moved to Bend with his family and came out for a day of play...

The kids ran wild all day and night, riding bikes, being goofy, befriending kids from other campsites, eating marshmallows and, of course, playing with glowsticks...

We spent a ton of time at the campground, but spent a lot of time in town, too.  Sarah and Pat were amazing hosts and were excited to show us all the fun things Bend had to offer, which made it so easy for our family.  We were up for just about anything.  We visited some local breweries, walked around the downtown area, and our favorite part was tubing down the Deschutes River...

They have a part in the river that is divided in 3 sections.  One for practicing white water rafting, one for surfing, and one with mild rapids for the adventurous at heart.  Many people take their float devices out of the water and walk them around to the next section to avoid the rapids, but half our crew insisted on rapids.  Pat had never taken the kayak through, but for some reason, Enzo INSISTED that it needed to happen.  I was reluctant to let him brave it because it is NOT like him at all to attempt something like this without knowing the outcome, but he wanted to prove it was possible.  I think there were moments when Pat and Enzo got nervous, but they made it!  Enzo was so happy to show us it was possible, which, of course, made me a proud momma...

The week had been full of fun and gave the kids lots of time to catch up with lost time.  They were all so close and all had time to create individual bonds with each other that were so adorable and precious.  Saying good-bye to them wasn't easy...

Being that Baby Indie is still a baby, Brooke and Indie weren't able to join us on the adventures, but we still wanted more time with them.  So, before we left we spent some time visiting them at their house.  The kids loved playing with Indie and her toys, meeting their doggies, and seeing their house.  It was nice to have some special time to love on them before it was good-bye.

Bend was amazing.  Great friends, fun adventures, beautiful sites, and so much more.  Bend, we love you!
