Once we crossed the Puget Sound, we landed at our final destination in Edmonds, Washington at our good friends, Megan and Chris's house. We were so excited to get there and see them! They greeted us and dove right into Auntie and Uncle mode...
They were great hosts during our visit with Chris cooking breakfast every morning and dinner just about every night! And, they were great at showing us around the city (Seattle). I've wanted to visit Seattle ever since I was a kid and never made it there, so it was super exciting for me to be there with such great friends and tour guides :) They first took us to Gas Works Park, where we saw the most beautiful view of the city. I took a bunch of picturesque photos, while everyone ran around and rolled down the hills. Eva grabbed on to the Space Needle for a funny photo (although I so wish I would've changed my camera settings for a clear shot!)...
Then, after seeing the city from afar, we drove in for the full experience at Pike Place Market. Whoa! That place was crazy with so many interesting people, arts, food, and more! Of course, the kids found the cookie shop, where Megan treated them to some delicious sweets...
We walked through the Gum Wall (Yuck!)
And took pictures with all the infamous pigs...
Then we ate dinner on the pier, where Dana and I had delicious crab legs. And, for dessert, we all rode the huge ferris wheel that sits right on the pier!
We had some amazing views from the top...
It was such a fun day in the city!
Fourth of July came on another day during our visit, so Megan and Chris planned a festive party at Megan's dad's house. He has a pool, so my kids were set for the day. They swam their hearts out for 5+ hours straight!
While Dana and I had fun with all the adults, lounging and socializing. Here we are cuddling with Megan and Chris's babies, Murphy and Wally (who also become Rocky's BEST friends)...
And doing a shot with the girls!
We ended the night by taking all the kids to the downtown Edmonds fireworks display. It was a great day of celebration! By the time we left, we definitely felt like we were part of the family :)
One more blog on it's way to end our road trip. Stay tuned!
