This last year has been a great year for Eva, she still remains to be one of the tallest kids in her grade, measuring at 54.5". She really enjoys the role of being the tall girl, with a confidence and maturity that I can only hope will remain with her forever. Eva is doing very well in school, conquered another soccer season, is taking figure skating lessons, and remains to be the bubbly, social butterfly she's always been.
This year, Eva and Enzo combined their birthday party with some school friends at Dave and Buster's on a weekend between their actual birthdays. It was a whirlwind of a party with lots of lights, sounds, and kids running around. It was just the way they wanted to celebrate.
A few days after the party, we had visitors in town (which deserves a whole blog in itself). Erica, one of the little girls, was anxious to give Eva a matching Hatchimals slap bracelets so they can feel connected when they are so far apart. And, Vivian, who was also visiting, was excited to watch Eva open the gift and try it out!
On Eva's actual birthday (this last Sunday), she woke up and absorbed the idea of being 8, then waited for the boys to wake up so we could go get doughnuts!
The kids devoured far too many and binge watched shows on YouTube until we were ready to head out for some birthday adventures. That was Eva's perfect start to the day.
Eva looks for any opportunity to "make daddy do whatever I want", so it only seems right that he should do so on her birthday! Eva's main mode of preferred transportation was on top of Daddy's shoulders...and as you can imagine, one super tall human on top of another super tall human makes for a very tall totem pole! LOL
For Eva's birthday dinner, she chose Shoguns, which is similar to Benihanas. Eva and I got excited to wear matching shirts to add a little "extra" to the night.
Dinner was fun! The chef had fun with the kids, showed them his cooking skills and tricks. Then, Eva took it upon herself to have some fun...
After dinner, we headed over to a movie theater so we could watch the latest "The Grinch". But, before we went, we made a pit stop at Dollar Tree so everyone could pick their own box of candy. They couldn't believe they could have a whole box to themselves! (Even Daddy got excited, ha!). We had a few minutes to spare, so the kids looked around at other movies that were out and/or coming out soon.
After the movie, it was time to head home and get ready for bed.
We had a wonderful day celebrating Eva, just the way she wanted.
We are so happy to have such a beautiful, happy, and healthy little girl, who is quickly transforming into an amazing little lady. 8 years ago, she made us parents for the first time, paving the way for her brothers with leadership skills that truly teach Enzo and Zander how to enjoy the best in life. Our Eva is a true beauty, we are so happy to celebrate her.
