With Dana and I finally having some time off to do whatever we wanted, we were lucky to have visitors in town who wanted to see what San Diego was all about. A friend of mine from high school, Tanya, and her friend Sara were near San Diego for a seminar and had a day to escape. It had been quite a long time since the last time we saw each other, so I was happy to see Tanya and also very happy to show her what Dana and I call home. We met for lunch at World Famous, which is right on the beach. And, after the horrible storms all week long, we were lucky to have a day of sunshine and clear blue skies. We took a walk on the boardwalk where we spotted a snowman in the sand. It was real snow!! We are assuming someone took snow while in the mountains and brought it to the beach because it definetly wasn't cold enough here to have snow. Of course, we had to take a picture.
After the boardwalk, Dana took them on his infamous guided tour where he was able to lay out all the facts of San Diego. Since the sky was crystal clear, we went to Mount Soledad where we could see all of San Diego and Tijuana, Mexico, too! It has been a while since Dana and I took time to see the ocean, even though we live so close, so it was really nice to have visitors so we could make the journey.
