Although it was Easter today, Dana and I were without family and just decided to make it a great Sunday spent together. After having friends over for a BBQ yesterday, we decided to take the day to spend being together. We started our morning off by taking a walk to the local Starbucks and getting our "usual Sunday coffee drinks". We also treated ourselves to a doughnut at a local doughnut shop (I hadn't had one in years!). We drank our coffee and ate our doughnuts, then continued on our way to a walk around the neighborhood (about 3 miles). Of course, Rocky was with us, too. We let him off his leash the entire way today and almost got to the end of our walk when he encountered a cat. He has a huge interest in cats, which can sometimes turn into trouble. Most cats don't really like him. Dana is convinced that one day he is going to lose an eye after a cat scratches it out. I, on the other hand, think the only way he'll learn his lesson is if he gets scratched. Regardless of the fact, Rocky survived his encounter today.
After that, Dana and I drove down to the US Olympic Training Center to check it out. It was just something to do and somewhere to drive. Of course, we were 2 of just a few people there. We walked the path to check out all the different areas. Since we had never been, it was really interesting to see where the actual Olympic Medalists practice. They have a 1 mile path to and from the entire center...so that put our walking total in today to be 5 miles each!
