As I mentioned in last week's blog, my Aunt Rhonda came to San Diego for work during her 50th birthday, which Dana and I got to spend with her by treating her dinner and dessert. As soon as work was done last Tuesday, she joined us at our house for the rest of the week. Unfortunetly, while she was here we got some really crumby, rainy weather. But, we turned it into good quality time together. While Dana was layed up on the couch, in pain from getting his wisdom tooth removed, we joined him on the couch to watch a movie and put together the baby swing and bouncy chair.
Luckily, on days 2 and 3 the sun popped out a few times during the day and Rhonda and I grabbed the opportunity to get out and do something fun. We started our mornings with a walk with the dogs (Rocky and Elvis who was also staying with us for the week while his parents honeymooned in Cabo). We then spent a day in Old Town where we ate some great mexican food with margaritas (mine virgin, of course), then walked around to shop.
We also got to spend another day by the water by driving to Pacific Beach and eating lunch, then walking on the boardwalk for a bit to enjoy the view. We walked on the Pier to watch the surfers for a bit and breathe in the ocean air.
And, while we were home hanging out, Aunt Rhonda got in good with the big man of the house. He loved cuddling with her and getting all kinds of attention. Rocky sure loves his Auntie Rhonda.
Thanks for coming to visit us, Rhonda! We loved having you!
