I'm just going to start this post out with two of the cutest pictures ever. I could stare at them all day long because they just make my heartmelt.... This first one just gives me fuzzies all over inside for so many reasons. One is because Eva is NOT a cuddler. She doesn't like to be held close and never puts her head on your shoulder, so this moment couldn't mean more. And, hello! Look at how happy and content Uncle Derek is to have his baby niece in his arms. To see the love he has for me is indescribable. She loves you right back, Uncle Derek!
This next picture is a perfect Father Daughter moment. If you couldn't see the resemblence before, you will see it now...
and, the follow up to that...
While we were on vacation, we got some great relaxation time at Granny's house. It was perfect for everyone. Uncle Derek and Aunt Cortney hung out until Tuesday before saying good-bye
And, while Granny did have to work a couple days, she came home at every break to get in some cuddles and playtime. Eva loved it! Here she is getting a laundry basket ride...
Then on the days Granny had off, we enjoyed the beautiful weather. We spent a day in beautiful Bayfield, Wi...
And went for long walks along the lake.
Our time with Granny was priceless. There is nothing like spending part of your motherhood with the one person who knows you best, your own mother! She isn't just a wonderful mother, but an even better grandmother. The way she smiles when she is with Eva makes me so proud to give her such a gift. She has so much patience, love, and thoughtfulness for her little granddaughter.
And, yes, you better believe I took advantage of all the love she had to give. For the whole week, I got to sleep in!! Can you imagine? I got to wake up on my own time, with no baby alarm clock to wake me. Boy, was that nice. Thank you, Granny, for giving me sleep :)
While the time at home was so perfect, it sure did go by way too fast. Saturday morning came and it was time to say good-bye. We waited for Granny's first break before we had to part, so she could get in just one more cuddle with Eva.
Thank you, Mom, for the wonderful hospitality, for all the time we got to spend together, and for just being you!!
