Anniversary Staycation

August 8th was our 2 year wedding anniversary.  Since we love to celebrate these special days together, we decided it was time to get out as a family and take a little vacation.  We didn't go far, we just traveled up to Carlsbad (about a half hour drive) and stayed at La Costa Spa and Resort.  This was a family friendly resort with all the accomadations for a perfect "staycation".  As soon as we got there, Eva did all the unpacking...

And then we headed straight to one of the many pools for some water fun.  They had many children's pools, waterslides, splashland, and more!

Below you will see that Eva and I nearly got wiped out by one of the waterslides...but it was fun!

We also tested out a floaty that we bought Eva so she could have a little more freedom in the water.  Her and daddy had a blast together.

And after we were done getting wet, we walked around, lounged, and just enjoyed being together.  We got this lovely family picture in our courtyard.

Since it was our anniversary, we were sure to do a little celebrating as a couple as well.  We left Eva at their on site daycare for a couple hours as Dana and I went to the spa for our couple's massage.  Boy, did that feel good!!  It wasn't easy to leave Eva for those 2 hours (yes, I still cry if I have to leave her), but it sure made me one happy mommy when we picked her up and saw her so happy and playing with their many toys.  They said she loved group time and had a blast crawling everywhere (thats our girl!!).

Just like last year, Dana and I also took on the traditional anniversary gift exchange.  This year's theme: Cotton.  While I didn't get nice pictures (we opened our gifts first thing in the morning while still in bed with bedhead, pjs, and groggy eyes), I will tell you about it.  I, as I did last year, made Dana's gift.  I made him an apron to wear while BBQing.  Dana bought me a beautiful white lace/cotton tank with a metallic gold heart on it representing our love (way to go, Dana!).

In the end, Dana and I both agree that it was the best time ever.  We wouldn't have changed a single thing.  We had an amazing time as a family and a relaxing time as a couple...unfortunetly, this is the only picture I got of the 2 of us...we were just too busy having fun!
