With our first weekend back from our vacation and without visitors, Dana and I were ready to take care of as much of our "To Do List" as possible. On the top of our list were buying a new bed (something long overdue), scoping out vehicles because I am, indeed, still driving my Saturn Ion, which barely seats 4, and lastly, start pricing out options for our 1980's kitchen. But as the weekend approached us, we barely made it to the mattress store before Eva became extremely fussy. I started to pay closer attention to her behavior and realized she was on fire with a blazing temperature, which I later found to be 103. I couldn't believe it! My poor little girl was sick again!
Needless to say, we all had 2 completely sleepless nights, spending most of our time trying to comfort Eva during all of her discomfort from her high fever and getting sick, which meant late night baths for and I, and late night laundry duty for daddy. During the day, things weren't much better. We spent most of the days laying on the couch...
and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on repeat.
I am happy to announce, though, that after having a rough weekend, Eva was feeling much better, with only a very slight fever by Monday. It is no fun having a sick child, but am so proud of her for being a trooper and getting through it. And, luckily, this time around (knock on wood) mommy and daddy haven't gotten sick, which made it much, much easier to care for Eva.
Before the weekend, though, we did manage to get a few cute pictures of Eva enjoying herself outside. While Granny was here, she got Eva a watertable with she has a ton of fun splashing with her animals in the water...
She also had some fun with her sprinkler...
One day before daddy got home from work, we had the chore of shucking corn for daddy to grill with burgers for dinner. Since Eva loves to help, I gave her an ear to shuck for herself. Little did I realize that she was not going to wait until the grill was on, she was going to eat her corn now...and she ate the whole thing, then more!
Through sickness and health, Eva sure knows how to make the best of a situation. I'm glad we made it through this rough weekend and now we are looking forward to the week ahead of us, hoping for great weather and lots of fun!
