Me llamo Rocky

Orangutan Hair

Last week, Eva and I kept busy as usual meeting up with friends, going to the park, and attending our class field trip...but by Thursday morning I realized I pushed her a little too hard after just getting over being really sick.  She woke up with a cough, no voice, and a runny nose, so we skipped out on our outdoor class that day and played hookey.  But, before Thursday came, we did have fun on our field trip with our Wednesday class.  We took a ferry from Coronado to Seaport Village, accompanying our friends Marieva and mommy Paula.  The girls really enjoyed the ferry ride, looking at the water, watching the other boats go by and seeing many military helicopters flying overhead...

Once we reached Seaport Village, we walked around, ran in the grass, then ended our trip with a carousel ride before we headed home...

After laying low for the rest of the week, Eva and I were ready for the weekend.  Since Dana arranged for the largest shipment of mulch you may have ever seen be delivered to our house, Eva and I decided it was time to get out and go see her cousins.  While we were there we missed out on the big truck that delivered the mulch, but when we returned we saw that it took over our entire driveway.  If you look really close, you might be able to spot Rocky, who made the mulch his new bed...

While Dana was busy hauling all the mulch to our backyard, Eva and I spent time with Aunt Heather, Rowan, Kierce, and Merrick.  Aunt Heather and I got to catch up, and Eva got to have fun with her cousins and their pet rats.  Yup, their pet rats.  While I am not a big fan, Eva surely is one.  She was having fun letting them crawl on her legs, petting them, and watching them run around in their cage.  Before we left, Aunt Heather donated a box of books to us, but Eva surely couldn't leave without getting a little sample...

On our way out the door, Kierce convinced me that we were long overdue for some sleepovers and she volunteered herself to be the first to go.  Eva was super excited for the company, and Uncle Dana and myself were happy to have the extra entertainment.  As soon as we got home, Kierce had the idea that we should have meatloaf for dinner.  I ran out to get the ingrediants, but then decided I shouldn't have to cook alone, so I put her and Eva to work mixing all the ingrediants...

The meatloaf turned out delicious, so everyone was well fed.  In the morning, the girls hung out with monkey, aka "Ah! Ah! Ah!" as Eva would say.  Kierce read Eva some books as they hung out on the couch...

Then Daddy, Eva, Kierce, and I went to Wings Over Gillespie, an airplane show at Gillespie Field.  We saw a ton of old airplanes on display and some in the air.  We watched them do circles in the air, zoom by, and even drop some skydivers.  Before we parted ways with Daddy, they posed for a pic...

As Dana went on to check out all the planes upclose, Kierce, Eva and myself had some fun in the bouncy obstacle course, which ended with a big slide.  Kierce caught Eva and I in action...

Once we made it back home, Kierce and Eva were ready to have some fun in the sun...

Before Kierce left, we invited the rest of the family over for a bbq.  Everyone relaxed out in the beautiful sun, eating deliciously grilled food, and enjoyed each other's company...

It was a busy weekend, but so nice that we got to spend the entire time with family.  :)
