Me llamo Rocky

5 Months Along!

I've made it over the half-way hump and am now 5 months along.  In the last couple of weeks I've felt my body growing significantly and my mind is having a hard time adjusting to all the changes.  I feel so much bigger than I was with Eva and can barely move around at times...then I have to remind myself I still have 4 more months to go!  Yikes.

Overall, pregnancy has been great.  I'm feeling good, have my energy back and I am doing my best to stay active (which is pretty easy with Eva around).  We make it to the gym twice a week, then work in cardio as much as I can.  Unfortunately, just as I had with Eva, I am dealing with Sciatica (a generic term for pain from my sciatic nerve--which baby is resting on) so I have a big pain in my butt and leg which make it painful to walk.  Luckily, it isn't bad enough yet to stop me from getting around and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't get much worse.

Eva still doesn't really understand that her baby brother will be arriving in a few months and I'm not exactly sure what the best way of preparing her is, but I've been talking about the baby in my belly (which now she thinks daddy has one in his belly as well), and I will show her things that we will be using for her brother like baby toys, or things that will be going in his room.  And speaking of his room, we have started to put it together.  The room is all cleared out of my sewing things and has been painted with a new rug in place.  We should be getting a crib soon and starting to place everything in its spot, then add some decor, and then of course I will share the pictures of the new room with you.

People have been asking us about the name lately, and Dana and I are having fun thinking about what it will be.  We won't be sharing the name until the baby is born, but will also say that we are still open for suggestions.  We have two on our list and would really like one more, so we've been thinking about it alot.

As for the baby himself, well he is doing great.  I've been feeling him move around, kick, and do somersaults.  He seems be growing quite rapidly, for my belly is stretching rapidly.  He doesn't really enjoy when I'm holding Eva, for she likes to squirm alot and seems to know exactly how to irritate him.  He'll let me know by giving me a big kick.  Eva, on the other hand, seems to really be enjoying my big belly, for she thinks its her new stepping stool.  Of course I do my best to avoid her from stepping on me, but she doesn't make it easy.

I go to my doctor this week for my next check up, which is always special because I get to hear baby's heartbeat.  I always love that!
