This year, Dana and I decided we would stay in San Diego for Xmas. Time flew by, and weeks before Christams turned into hours and then we realized we had no plans! Luckily, I did decorate a little, so our house did feel festive. Dana suprised me on Xmas Eve night with cookie dough to make cookies. Dana did the baking and I helped with the frosting and decorating. I think thats all I ate for dinner that night...ha! Rocky and I licked all the left over frosting, too. Then, Christmas morning, we woke up extra early, made coffee, and opened our gifts. Santa was very good to us this year even though Dana and I felt a little bit of disappointment. I really thought I was getting tickets to the John Legend/ Estelle concert and he really thought he was getting the PlayStation 3 (yeah right!)...but we are very happy with how everything turned out and we both agree that the absolute best gift of all was to have each other and spend the entire day together without any work. After gifts, we watched 4 movies (Tropic Thunder, Fred Claus, 88 Minutes, and part of The Women) and then decided last minute to make a Christmas dinner--ham and all. Not a good idea since we had none of the ingredients. It took us a few hours and a lot of driving around to find someone with a ham, and by the time it thawed and was cooked, it was 10:30pm....but who cares! It's Christmas and we can do what we want. heehee. It was a fabulous dinner (Dana cooked) and a day very well spent. As you can tell by one of the pics, Christmas isn't the same without snow--yes, we still have green grass.
