Welcome 2009
Ok, so its been a while since I've posted a blog and people are starting to get on me about it. But, at the same time, they are disappointed that I haven't been posting any new wedding updates. The truth is, I haven't been doing very much wedding planning lately because I was waiting for the new year to start to work on the upcoming tasks.
These are the things I plan on working on in the next month:
1. Design my dress--work out details, assembly, colors, fabrics, and trims (but I won't start my first sample until next month)
2. Finalize my guest list and get my Save-the-Dates sent out to those who are traveling so they can start planning their trip.
3. Pick bridesmaid dresses (no, I won't be designing those--I really want to, but I just don't want to become too stressed or overwhelmed)
4. Post our on-line gift registry. We've started registering for gifts, but its hard for us to want things when we aren't in our own house yet. You always want to start new when you buy a new house, and we just don't know where we will be in the next year, so we are putting a lot of thought into the things we want and need.
5. Finalize the colors for the wedding.
So, now that you know what we plan on doing, I'll tell you all the things we have to look forward to. After talking to my mom and my Momba(mother-in-law--yup, thats what I call her ;) ) we have chosen a couple weekends for the bridal showers. We are doing two weekends in a row so that Dana and I only have to fly home once before the wedding. The weeks of May 9th-16th are what seems to work best for us. We haven't booked our tickets yet and my mom hasn't gotten the ok from work yet, but once she does, it should be good to go.
In the meantime, we are having a few visitors in the up-coming months, which will help the time just fly by. My good friend and bridesmaid in the wedding, Natalie and her husband Wayne are coming here the end of February for a long weekend. Natalie will be 6 months preggers!! I get to touch her baby bump and see her pregnancy glow, I am soooooooo excited! Then, the weekend after they leave, my Aunt Rhonda is coming here for work....and then my Uncle Bob (also known as "The Godfather"--heehe) is going to meet up with her for the following weekend. This is the first time my Aunt has been out here to visit me, so I am very excited to show her around and welcome her and my uncle into our home. Soon after that, my brother and his girlfriend are planning to come here for vacation and then possibly another visitor after that, and then the showers!!
Dana and I both have a lot to look forward to in this year....it is going to bring us so much happiness and joy. I am really looking forward to everything!!! I hope I didn't bore all of you, but I'm just checking in and keepin' you all in the loop.
