Eba Do It

The last week or so has been way too hot for this pregnant momma to be outside, so the family has spent much of our time indoors, keeping cool.  On Saturday, Dana and I got a babysitter so we could attend the annual  Haute with Heart Fashion Show put on by St. Madeline's Sophie Center.  Our friends, Victor and Rhaylene have invited us for the past three years and we have always enjoyed it.  Here we are before the event...

And then right before the show started with Victor and Rhaylene...

Later that day, we all spent some family time in the new baby's room.  Eva enjoyed playing with the  big bear, while Dana put together the crib, and I organized some of the decor.  Eva enjoyed talking about her "Baby Brodder" and pointing to all the things in the room that were his..

On Sunday, we did our best to keep cool by taking a dip in our neighbors pool, then later tried out Chuck E. Cheese...

It was an interesting experience to say the least, overall Eva had a ton of fun pushing buttons for daddy...

Before the day ended, Eva took a picture with daddy next to the gigantic sunflowers that she and daddy planted from seed just a couple short months ago.  They are almost twice the size of Dana!

In other news, Eva has become little Miss Independant, sharing more and more "big girl" moments with us.  We are constantly in amazement at how smart she is and how much she remembers.  Her most used quote these days is "Eba do it".  Yes, Eba, not Eva.  She oftens talks about herself in the third person and always calls herself Eba.  She really wants to do most things on her own, and for the most part I try and let her at least try a few times before I step in.  I'm sure there will be a time when I grow too impatient to wait for "Eba do it", but as of now I am really enjoying her growth and embrace her independance.

Eva has conquered counting to 10 now and loves to do it whenever the opportunity arises (and even when it doesn't).  I caught her sneaking Rocky's food onto the couch, then counting them all out...

And when I asked her what she was doing, this was the face she gave me...

With that, she really loves counting to ten, then jumping off something to give mommy a scare.  I've surprisingly been pretty open to her jumping off some things here and there, as long as I know I will catch her or she is somewhat safe.  What fun would it be as a kid if you couldn't jump off things?!  For instance, while making dinner the other day, I could hear her counting and making noise, when I checked on her, she had already taken the couch cushions off the couch and was jumping into them on her own.  She's a bit fearless.

Eva is starting to learn her colors.  It started with the interest of saying "yellow" alot.  Now she's often times asking me what color everything is.  At first, everything was yellow, but yesterday, while we were coloring, she showed me orange, pink, yellow, and black.  I was so impressed!  And, I think she was very proud of herself.

After trying over and over to convince her to say cheese everytime I want to take a picture of her, she is now doing it all the time whenever she sees soemthing that resembles a camera.  So, I'll ask her "Do you want me to take a picture of you?"  And she will reply yes...but, as soon as I get the camera out, she gives me this (all while saying "Cheese!")...

I did, however, manage to get a picture of her "stretching", like my cousin, Mary did before her workout.  Eva loved learning this move and will bust out in a random stretch whenever she thinks of it.  Its pretty cute/funny to see, especially when you are in the middle of IKEA trying to shop, haha...
