Funny Daddy

While its still hot and my tolerance to heat has decreased, Eva's tolerance to stay indoors has also decreased and you know who's boss...So, we finally got out of the house this last week.  On Wednesday, we met up with Eva's friend from school, Stella, and her mommy (who is just 2 weeks more pregnant than myself) at Balboa Park/The Children's Science Center.  The girls ran around and explored the museum, but soon had enough and wanted some outside time.  The mommies found some shade, while the girls followed each other around, mimicking each others moves...

Over the weekend, Daddy was determined to make the days as Eva-friendly and family fun as possible.  Since he'd been hearing about all the time we've been spending at the Children's Science Center and Eva talking about the "Burp Man", he thought it would be his time to see it for himself.  The "Burp Man" is a display from the Grossology exhibit, where you can pump gas into this display man's belly and he will burp.  Eva always acts super scared, but then asks to hear it more and more.  And now she thinks burping is the funniest thing that has ever happened.  I can't get a pic because she refuses to get close enough to him for a good shot.  Anyway, after Grossology it was time to see the rest of the museum.  I don't know who learned more or had more fun, Daddy or Eva, but they sure were happy to be together through it all...

On Sunday, Daddy chose Breakfast with Shamu at Seaworld.  Since it wasn't until 10, we moved super fast and got there before Seaworld opened at 9 to have some fun at Sesame Street's Bay of Play before we ate.  Eva and Daddy climbed the rope tower...

And ran through the tunnels...

And then it was time for breakfast.  While we were eating, the whale trainers were showing us tricks and flips that the whales could do.  Right as Dana was taking a picture, out popped Shamu. He flipped tons of water in exactly Dana's direction, right as he took a picture...

Eva and I thought it was pretty funny that Shamu got daddy all wet, while both of us remained completely dry.

Lately, Eva has shown an interest in penguins.  She has a set of pajamas with penguins on it, and will see pictures of them in books.  So, when we saw a penguin on the way out of Seaworld, Eva was completely thrilled.  She was so proud to be with her new friend that she did not want to leave his side.  It was adorable...

In fact, the only way to convince her to leave him was to remind her that when she gets to daddy's truck, she could watch Dora.  Dana has a DVD player in his truck and ever since I bought a 3 episode Dora movie, she is addicted to daddy's truck and will let us drive ANYWHERE.  Dana and I just can't help watching her watching Dora....

But, the second she feels our eyes on her, she puts her hand up and says "No, no, Daddy!", "No, no, Mommy!".  So then we try really hard to be descrete and stretch our eyeball all the way to the corner just to get one more sneak peak, but Eva is no dumby.  "No!" she says, with her hand flying right back up.  Hahaha!  Of course, it only makes us want to look at her more.  Eva, you are just too cute and mommy and daddy just love you too much!!

As if getting out with Eva wasn't enough, Daddy wanted to keep going.  After naptime and daddy's tree watering time, Eva and Daddy took a dip in the pool.  Who said this thing is a kiddie pool, Daddy fit just fine and even made it down the slide a couple times...

As the sun started setting and mommy prepared dinner, Eva showed daddy what Arts and Crafts time was all about.  They tried the new stamp markers mommy bought.  Not only did they have fun with all the colors and shapes, but Daddy taught Eva how to take the cap off and put it back on and how to go from stamping paper to stamping hands (ok, that part I wasn't too thrilled about), but craft time with daddy?  That trumps the hand stamps for sure!

And just in case you didn't get to sense Eva's goofy side with all the pictures above, I'll leave you with this...
