Eva and I are now back in San Diego after spending 10 days in Wisconsin and Minnesota. We spent lots of time travelling from one place to another, but had a blast the whole time, for there was so much to do and so many people to see. We started our trip flying from San Diego to Minneopolis. With a Dora The Explorer movie downloaded onto my kindle, Eva was so good on the plane. She took a short nap (there was no room for her to lay down), but mostly enjoyed playing peek-a-boo with our neighbors and watching her Dora movie and eating the airplane snacks...
My cousin, Jennifer, and her family picked us up from the airport and drove us to their house in Eau Claire. Eva loved the time she got there, for she got along so well with her cousins, Gavin and Taylor. The morning after our arrival, we were lucky enough to take part in Taylor and Jayden's first day of school. They were excited to ride the bus and get to school to meet their new teachers. Gavin and Eva took part in the "first day" pictures with Taylor. So cute.
We walked Taylor to her bus, then went to the park to play.
After a fun filled day in Eau Claire, we headed up to Ashland with Granny to spend a few days relaxing at her house. Eva loved it there, for my mom has 3 dogs and 2 cats, which Eva couldn't keep her hands off. On top of that, there was so many new things for Eva to do and see. Our first night there we made dinner straight from Granny's garden. Granny taught Eva how to pick peppers, cucumbers, and carrots...
We went to Prentice Park, which is a park that I use to frequent as a kid myself. It was so nice to go back there and see that not alot has changed. There are trails to walk on, a big playground, and the best part, a great place to feed the ducks.
As the weekend approached, we headed for Hayward to my Aunt and Uncle's lake house. There we met up with my Aunt Rhonda, Uncle Bob, Aunt Mary Kay, cousins Ashley, Andrea, Tara, and Jennifer along with their families. It was a blast. Eva had kids her age to play with and I had a ton of family to catch up with. It was so much fun!
Auntie Andrea showed Eva how to play The Dora the Explorer Chutes and Ladders with the other kids...
We went for two pontoon boat rides, where Eva learned how to drive with Uncle Bob...
Roasted marshmallows for Smores...
Learned how to fish...
And enjoyed storytime with her cousin, Rory, and her favorite storyteller...Mommy!
Before we all left on Sunday, and thanks to Ashley, we managed to get a group shot...
Spending time at the lake house was the perfect way to wrap up our first week in Wisconsin...stayed tuned for week 2, coming soon!
