Me llamo Rocky

8 Months Along, Close to Countdown Time!

I am officially in my last month of pregnancy and all I can think is "Yikes!".  I am feeling the pressure of finishing the baby's room, getting the baby furniture out from storage, and preparing to hold our little boy in my arms.  I can hardly believe the time is so close.

Physically, I'm feeling ok.  Although, I can tell this baby has no more room to grow, for he is always kicking under my ribs.  Bending over, walking, moving any faster than a turtle, and twisting my body has become nearly impossible without having some time of ache or pain with it.  My energy is pretty good, but I am losing motivation to work out for any length of time.  I still go to the gym twice a week and also work out on my ellipticaly at home 2-3 days a week, but the time I spend doing anything athletic has shortened quite a bit.

Baby still moves alot and now that he is much bigger I can tell whether its a small body part moving (like a hand or foot) or if its something big (like his butt) without feeling with my hand.  You can see most any movement just by looking at my belly, which is constantly on the go.

Because movement is so obvious by the naked eye, Eva seems to be understanding more about her baby brother in my belly.  She talks about him more and now, in the last week or so, she started to "hold baby brother" and wrap her arms around my belly and rest her head on it.  It is the cutest darn thing ever and I never once suggested her doing it.  It was something she wanted to do herself.

We've been preparing Eva for baby's life outside the womb.  She  says "Baby brodder cry, mommy, wah, wah, wah, wah.  Eba say 'it's ok baby brodder'".  Then, she'll pet my belly to calm him down.  I can't wait to see that when he's really here!  She's going to be a great little helper.  She also got her hands on some baby bottles that were used for a game at my baby shower and talks about how her brother will be using them.  I'm thinking it will be a great toy for her to feed her dolls when mommy is feeding baby.

Daddy is gearing up for baby's debut as well.  I can tell it is finally sinking in and Dana is really excited to have that baby in his arms.  He talks about him alot, wondering what our new baby will be like.  We often times wonder what he will look like, what his personality will be like, and how the dynamic of our family will change with his arrival.  All things we just won't know until he is here, but are excited to see!

This next week will be my 36 week appointment, where my midwife will be doing a quick ultrasound to be sure baby is ready for delivery, then after that is just waiting until he is ready :)

Lastly, we had a maternity photo shoot a couple weeks ago and we couldn't be more happy with how they turned out, check them out here!
