As promised, I have pictures of the baby's room to share! I am finally complete, with just a few little tidbits left to add. Let me try and give you a rotating tour through the room. Here, as you start to walk through the entrance, you will see this:
Then, as you walk in, you get a better view of the entire wall (don't mind the lighting here):
As you turn to the right, you will see the crib:
And then if you look to the left, you will see this:
And that is pretty much it! I couldn't be more happy with the results. Now for the details (for anyone interested): I started off by finding inspiration for the paper lanterns from a blogger on Pinterest. I loved the gray walls and color scheme for the lanterns she used. From the lanterns I moved forward to the bedding. As it turned out, I couldn't find anything at all that I liked, so I went to the fabric store and found blue and green geometric fabrics that I loved and bought out all they had. I sewed the crib skirt, then went to the window skirt. Then, when I got the book sling, I reupholstered it with the fabric that I had. Then, I saved a few scraps of the fabric to put in the picture frames for the wall above the changing table. After getting that far, I sent a picture to my friend, Jen, and asked her if she could use the picture for inspiration to paint a special picture for the baby (which would be the hanging above the crib--an enlarged picture below):
She painted this beautiful picture of a mommy and baby giraffe, which I couldn't be more happy with. Then, we added some shelves, frames, and small details here and there. And, now the room is almost complete, only thing missing is our little baby boy :)
Hope you like how the room turned out as much as I do!
