First Week with Enzo

The first week home with Enzo went really well.  I'm sure it really helped that I had my mom and brother here to keep the little ones happy so that I could adjust into the new life I will have with 2 little ones at home full time.  They both just loved all the extra love and attention they got....

Enzo went in for a check up last Wednesday (being 2 days old) and the doc was a little concerned that he had lost 8% of his birth weight.  He wanted to check back when Enzo was a week old to see if he has started to gain his weight back.  Well, as Enzo heard this, he immediately took action.  While the average is to gain from 1/2 ounce to an ounce a day, he was averaging more like  1 and 1/4 ounces a day for the last 5 days!  Way to go, my little man.  As of yesterday, he was only 1 ounce away from being back at birth weight :)

Last Thursday, my mom and I decided it was time for Enzo's first bath.  I had a feeling he wasn't going to be the one to really enjoy it, so it was no surprise that he screamed his whole way through it. But, he was very happy to be comforted by his big sister and brother once it was all over with :)

I've been surprised at the things that Eva remembers from when she was a baby.  We've been pulling out all the baby things and half of them Eva has been insistant are hers, not Enzos.  One of those things was her old Baby Bjorn.  The second she caught site of it, she said "No, Ebas!".  Another thing she is absolutely not sharing is her stroller.  Our infant car seat fits right into it and since she doesn't like going in her stroller, I didn't think it would be a big deal, but the second I put Enzo in it, she was not happy at all.  Luckily, we'd already bought a sit 'n stand stroller, which she was really happy to share with Enzo, as they both started on equal grounds.  Eva even sat in it the whole time and is excited about sharing with Enzo...

All in all, the transition has been easier for me than I had anticipated and Eva is taking to it better than I ever thought.  Its not easy by any means, but I know its something we are all going to adapt to just fine.

To help with the transition, we've been getting plenty of visitors to both help entertain Eva and give extra hands to Enzo.  On Saturday, Enzo got to meet Uncle Ryan and his cousin, Merrick...

And Dalina...

Then on Sunday, he got to meet his cousins, Kierce (and Merrick)...
