Last weekend we visited Legoland. We bought some very affordable tickets a little while back and needed to take advantage of them by the end of the year. After finding that Eva was 37" I realized she would be able to take part in alot of the rides they have, as long as she was accompanied by an adult. I knew that this would make our Legoland adventure that much more fun and boy was I right. This little girl sure amazes me when it comes to handling a little risk (I guess it helps to have her daddy push her along, too--and I don't mean literally).
After seeing her episode with Santa last weekend, I never know what will amuse her and what will scare her. We told her that Santa was at Legoland (because thats what we really thought) and something inside her said to buck up and get over her fear, and so she was ready to see Santa, Snowflakes, Snowmen, Christmas trees, and all. In fact, she even repeated several times that "Santa say 'Hi, Eba!' and he give Eba a present with a Boo Bow! And mommy a present with a red Bow!" and thats what she wanted from Santa. So, when we finally arrived to the Holiday Snow Days Area, Eva's mouth was literally hung open for ten minutes. She was in complete awe of all the christmas trees lining our entrance, the music, the ornaments hanging, everything. It was magical. To Dana and I, well, we were like "And this is what they call winter?" haha. I guess we were pretty spoiled, coming from the midwest and all.
The first thing Eva spotted was this elf on stilts. She was so confused and amazed at how tall she was, she stared at her for so long. Luckily, Miss Elf was use to the child stares and gave Eva some love. Eva soaked it in (and just in case you're wondering where Enzo was, he's hiding under my hoodie in a carrier--slept the whole time)...
After the stilts, Eva caught site of the snow almost immediately and did not want to leave until she got to experience it herself. I'm not sure where she learned so much about snow, but I can't even begin to tell you how excited she was to get her hands on it. They had a snow area where you could sled down a hill (with about a 1 foot incline), build snowmen, and throw snowballs. And, you had to wait in line like a ride to get to it, hahahahahaha. No matter how long I'm away from good ole Wisconsin, my Wisconsin blood will never leave me. YOU HAD TO WAIT IN LINE TO SEE SNOW, that is funny, my friends. Anyway, back to Eva. Yes, her and daddy loved playing in the snow...
Daddy kept making her snowballs and she would throw them like a hot potato almost immediately and just kept asking for more...
After the snow play was over, Eva was all geared up to see Santa. She kept talking about the conversation they would have. It seemed like she was so ready to conquer her fears. I was so proud of her AND THEN i realized that they don't have a real Santa, they only have a LEGO SANTA! She was a trooper and took a pic with him...
But she kept looking at him with so much confusion and disappointment. I could tell she was really expecting to see a real Santa, since that is what I was telling her, so I only confused her more by showing her that, What? Santa is really made out of Legos? Oh no! We tried explaining that he was NOT REAL and there is a REAL Santa that we will visit later. She repeated it back "This Santa not real." So, I can only hope she can understand the difference between real and not real. Lucky for us, we get one more shot at this Santa thing. The real guy is suppose to be showing up for our community holiday party, cross your fingers for a success!
Enzo was nowhere to be seen above (because he was hiding under my hoodie the whole day), but I won't leave you empty handed.
Here he is looking cute in blue (have I mentioned that he has the brightest blue eyes ever?)...
Big Sister Eva sharing her "choco nilk"...
Daddy "bonding" with Enzo (ok, really just watching TV together)...
And a super cute picture to top you off...
