Christmas Week

We had a lot of celebrating going on the week of Christmas, here is the recap.

The Tuesday before Christmas, we made our final attempt at introducing Eva to Santa.  No, we weren't pushing her, he just happened to be showing up at our community holiday party.  Again, Eva was very excited to see him and talk to him and tell him she wanted a present with a bow on it for Christmas.  And, as soon as he arrived, she just stared.  She watched his every move--from atop Daddy's shoulders.  He made his way through the crowd and talked to every kid he passed by...every kid, except Eva.  She was very shy and was trying to wave to him, but he just didn't seem to notice.  I watched from afar and was completely heartbroken..."Please, Santa, don't ignore my little girl!" is all I kept thinking.  But, as her opportunity came closer, I realized she really enjoyed watching him and not having to actually talk to him.  We waited in line and by the time we got up to him she gained enough courage to ask for "Dora, Boots, and Hello Kitty" (I know, what happened to a present with a bow? I thought the same thing.)  Only problem is, she would only go near him with mommy, so I had to try my best to hold her and Enzo and smile for the camera, here it is:

Friday night, Dana had his company Christmas party.  It was a great time!

On Saturday, we made a visit to Auntie Vonnie's house.  Eva insisted on wearing her butterfly costume and so she did, making Auntie Vonnie very happy (she really likes butterflies).  Eva got her a little something special for Christmas, and she did Eva and Enzo, so they opened their gifts together and played as they usually do on our visits...

On Christmas Eve, Gramma and Bopa flew in to be with the family.  We had been very anxious for their arrival and very happy when it finally came.  Of course, they were excited to meet their newest grandson and get him in their arms.

And then, Aunt Heather brought over cookies for the kids to frost....

After tucking Eva into bed that night, Santa came and put all her presents under the tree. When he was all done, it looked like this...

Then came the morning, I was so excited I woke up earlier than usual, and Eva?  Well, she slept an hour and a half later than normal.  Of course!  We were all getting so antsy that we started making loud noises, but she still wouldn't wake up, so I finally went in her room and woke her.  She was totally fine and was quite excited to see if Santa came.  As soon as she saw all the presents she knew exactly what to do, dig in and start unwrapping...

After unwrapping and playing with all her new things, it was time to get ready for everyone to come over for Christmas dinner.  Eva looked beautiful in her Christmas dress and happily posed for a pic with Gramma and Bopa...

Mom (Gramma) put her master entertainer skills to work, cooking up a wonderful dinner for everyone.  We ate, played, laughed and enjoyed each other's company.  We had such a great time, that I failed to get a good pic of the group...but I did get a pic of my little handsome man all dressed up with his Uncle Ryan...

And then a goofy pic of Row Row and Kierce wearing their mustache sunglasses...
