Our Beautiful Orchid is Back!!!

I am so excited because our Orchid is back into full bloom in 8 months!! I love this beautiful plant because it reminds me every day of this journey of engagement and how fun it is. You see, when Dana and I had our engagement celebration in San Diego, a friend of mine, Julia and her fiance, Joe, brought an Orchid as a gift. Now, usually, I kill off any plant I ever get because I have no idea how to take care of them--my idea is wait til its completely dried out, then water it until it drowns, then repeat. Ha! That doesn't work so well. Fortunetly, I am marrying a wonderful man who knows how to do it all. He can cut the grass, build a house, rebuild a bronco, cook, love his chihuahua like its his very own blood related son, and, yes, he can keep a plant alive!!! And, now this plant is in full bloom and takes me back to those days in June when Dana got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. Oh, the memories bring tears to my eyes. I was also really excited because I hadn't seen Julia and Joe since our engagement party until Easter Sunday, isn't that a little ironic? She was happy to hear that it has been well taken care of, and she also mentioned to me that they are using orchids for their own wedding in October. Who said Roses symbolize love....I think its the Orchid.
