Eva's last week of class with Teacher Michelle was an egg hunt to celebrate Easter. Eva was so excited, she was hopping like a bunny through the entire class. Then came egg hunt time...
Before the day ended, we got a great shot of Eva with her friends...
Over the weekend, our neighborhood had their yearly street fair. Eva was super excited to get her face painted like a butterfly. The woman was reluctant to do it, thinking she was too young to sit still. Her face did not hide her feelings, but I knew my little girl. She sat so well that the woman paid her a very nice compliment for doing so great. Eva spent the rest of the day flapping her wings...
Next were the rides. Eva was tall enough to go on most all of the rides this year. Mommy wasn't prepared. Her first ride of choice was an elephant that flew around in a circle. In my mind I imagined that Eva thought she would like it, but as soon as it got started would panic and want to get off. I pictured her unbuckling her strap and jumping off toward me, screaming "Mommy, off!". I kept reminding her I would be really close, her response was "Bye, Mommy!"...then it started. As she went around and around she kept staring at the center, so I could never see her face. I panicked and told Dana "Oh no, she's scared, she needs to get off!" Dana says "She's fine." But, I know my girl. She is scared. Just then, she turns to us with the biggest smile and waves so proudly. I could not stop myself from crying. It was such a bittersweet moment. I was so relieved that she was ok and yet so sad that she is growing up so fast!
At home, we've been contemplating a playset since Eva was first born. We knew we would get one, it was just when that we were unsure about. I thought it would be best to wait until Eva at least reached the 3 year old minimum, but I just couldn't take it anymore. We had a beautiful backyard made for kids with nothing for kids to do. And, secretly, I was hoping she would be self-entertained for a little while during the day (so I can keep up with this blog). Well, we caved and got one last week. She loves it, for there is so much to do. The slides are extremely fast...
There is a rock wall...
Swings, of course...
And a sandbox...
And while Eva is doing all these "things" to stay entertained, Enzo is enjoying the more simple things in life...like looking up at his mommy, while laying in the grass...
