Last week, my best friend, Natalie and her family came to San Diego for a big family trip with her husband's brothers and their families. We found some time for all of us to meet up, giving the big girls (Norah and Eva) a chance to befriend one another and giving everyone the chance to meet Enzo for the first time. Norah took to him right away and couldn't wait to hold him all by herself. Us moms moved quickly to document the moment with all the little ones together....
Over the weekend, Daddy surprised us all with a new family member, Bumpy...
Yes, a new tortoise. Our neighbor had two tortoises that never got along, so Dana casually mentioned that if he ever wanted to get rid of one, we would take it. To our surprise, our neighbor decided the next day that it was time to seperate the tortoises and told us we could pick Bumpy up the next morning...under 2 conditions. One, we couldn't change his name and two, we must allow his granddaughter to come and visit if she wished. Done and done.
It came as a shock at just how quickly we became tortoise owners, but I think we are all very happy with our new family member. Eva loves watching him walk around and enjoys feeding him lettuce...
This Easter came way too quickly for mommy and the Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny was so busy with all the other mommies and daddies that he didn't call me until just days before the holiday. Luckily we worked things out and it all came together at the very last minute. Over the past couple years, Eva has accumulated 4 baskets, so the Easter Bunny played a game of "hide the baskets" for Eva to find in the morning. She had fun in the search...
And enjoyed all the "goody goodies" that were inside. Of course, you can't celebrate Easter without some peeps (even if they don't taste good, they sure do look like alot of fun)...
Enzo didn't miss out on the fun. He too got a basket full of fun things, which Eva helped him explore...
Later in the day, we had our Easter dinner where the adults enjoyed some relaxation...
And the kids enjoyed an egg hunt. And while I encouraged everyone to allow Eva to get to the "easy" ones on the ground, daddy just couldn't resist helping her to the tallest egg of them all...
Since Enzo is a tad too young to participate, he spent time getting love from his favorite people...
And at the end of the day, we attempted a family picture. When you have a toddler, a baby, a dog, and a tortoise, it gets a little complicated trying to get everyone to look at the camera. This was our best attempt...
Hope you all had a happy Easter, too! Or, as Eva was saying "Happy Halloween!"
