Its been a little while since we visited the zoo, so we decided to go this last week. We never get a chance to see the Polar Bears because they are on the opposite end of the zoo, but thats just what Eva wanted to see. So, we got there right when it opened and walked super fast to the Polar Bears (carrying Enzo in the Baby Bjorn and pushing Eva in the stroller--talk about a workout!). We were so glad we got there early, for we were the only ones there and they just got their breakfast (a bucket of carrots)...
We didn't fall short of amusement parks for the week, though, because we also went to Seaworld. This was a super quick visit to accomplish one thing. You see, they have a huge, fast, fun rollercoaster called the Manta. Rowan had been very apprehensive about going on that and Journey to Atlantis...and I couldn't go on them when I was pregnant with Enzo. So, Rowan pinky-promised me that after I had Enzo we would go on them together. Now was my time to redeem my ride. We only had time for one, so we chose Manta. It was so much fun we went on it twice!
And while we were riding that, the others actually pet some Mantas...
This last weekend has been a long one for this mommy, for Dana has been away all day at a business affair. I thought I would pack the weekend with fun adventures, but realized weekends are too busy with people and if I don't get out the door super early, I won't get out the door. So, it made me find more things to do at the house. While I got a little cleaning done, I gave Eva a plate of baking soda and 3 colored vinegar cups to drop the colors onto the plate for some colorful fizzy fun. That always goes well, until she gets bored and starts eating it and claiming it actually tastes yummy...
At another attempt with creativity, I took a kitchen cleaner spray bottle that I just finished and filled it with paint and water and let Eva spray on her easel (she took it very seriously and really liked it)...
While Eva was getting creative with color, Enzo was trying out some new things, too. While he looks at himself in the mirror often, over the weekend he REALLY discovered himself in the mirror. He was laughing, giggling, trying to touch and talk to himself. I finally sat him in his chair and he ended up there for almost 20 minutes completely fascinated with what he thought was another baby...
A new fascination of his is his feet. Every time you uncover them from his pajamas or his socks or whatever, he immediately grabs them and puts them in his mouth. He giggles the whole time, apparently because he knows just how silly he looks doing it...
The best part of my weekend actually came as a surprise. After going a little stir-crazy, we decided to get out of the house for a little bit. As I pull out of our driveway and onto the street, I see an animal of some sort crossing the road in front of me (and headed up my neighbors driveway). It looked like a turtle, but I knew it couldn't be because, well, it just didn't seem possible. But, low and behold, I stop the car and get out to find just that...a turtle! Eva and I were very excited. We brought it back home and saved it to show daddy. We haven't fully discussed it yet, but we may now be owners of this new turtle (whose name as of right now is "Little Baby Bumpy" according to Eva)...
I will end with another "Eva conversation".
It was naptime for Eva, but she decided she wanted to fight it, so she comes out of her room and says "I can't lay down, I'm too sick, I need to go to the doctor." Which was not true at all. I said, "Eva, lets go potty, then go and lay back down." She said "I can't go potty. If I sit down it will make me giggle."
