Flying Like a Bird

I have no idea where the summer is going in such a hurry, but it is just flying by.  With little down time, its hard to squeeze in a blog every week, but I really do try.  Today I have some time--finally!  When Dana and I go on date night (we try to go weekly), Eva always helps me get ready.  Lately, she has been asking if she can go on date night with daddy...and today, that wish was granted.  Daddy was very happy and proud to take her out on the town...

Eva had her first visit to a movie theater, followed by dinner.

Remember when I made Dana make Turtleini a pond?  Well, when Dana went to the store to get the stuff he needed, he drove his Bronco.  In the parking lot he met a guy who also said he had a lifted Bronco and together they made plans to take them out.  Dana was gone for most of the day, but came back a new man.  His newly painted and upgraded Bronco came back with battle scars and Dana has had a perma-grin since his return.  Here they are at the top of "Pancake Rock"....

Over the summer Eva has been befriending alot of older boys.  Knowing her energy and the way she plays it is really is no suprise.  I think now that her vocabulary is so enhanced, its easy for them to understand her and she has no problem keeping up with their energy.  One of these boys in particular is her cousin, Merrick.  She seriously wants to follow him around and do his every move.  And, even when it gets to be a bit too much for Merrick, he is so good and caring and tries in the most delicate way to let her know he needs a little space.  I love watching this relationship transpire :)

While Eva is busy making friends, Enzo has no problems figuring how to have some fun.  He has a great reach and will get creative with anything he can get his hands on...

There have been quite a few hot days where I just had no desire to be outside.  On one of those days we met some friends at the My Kids Clubhouse, which is an indoor play area.  It was Enzo's first time out playing...and he loved it...

We had a playdate one morning with Aiden and Emmalyn.  Naturally, Eva and Aiden went straight to the water...

With all the crawling around Enzo's been doing lately, it was bound to happen.  Enzo has found the doggy door and is completey fascinated with it.  He will sit there forever pushing his hand through and watching the door swing back and forth.  He will be figuring his way out of it soon enough, I'm sure...

Eva and Enzo continue to wrestle on a regular basis.  I continue to tell Eva to stop because she is being too aggressive right at the same moment where Enzo laughs hysterically because he's having so much fun.  Eva always gives me a look like "See?  I'm not doing anything wrong, he likes it."  In fact, sometimes she'll say just that to me.  How do you argue, she's kind of right...

The other day, Eva and I decided to decorate Daddy's parking spot on the driveway.  Eva was very clear about what she wanted me to color and really surprised me with her own abilities.  I started to color a circle and she said "This is a sun!"  And immediately started drawing all the rays out of the sun.  I couldn't believe it, this was her first real attempt (that I've known of) of her drawing a legitimate picture.  I was so proud, of course we had to take a picture...

Daddy, though, drove home, parked in his spot, and came into the house without even noticing all of our beautiful art. :(

To end, I would like to make an announcement.  My very hard working husband (who makes it possible for me to be at home all day with the kids) has been putting alot of blood, sweat, and tears into his business.  He, along with his AMAZING team, were invited to attend the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in San Diego and came in 28th!!!  It is such a great accomplishment and I couldn't be more happy for him and everyone that works at Web Design Solutions...Here are just a few of teammates that attended with him...
