Elephants and Dragons

Enzo is totally in to clothes right now.  It started with the shoes, but has transpired into anything he can get his hands on.  We keep a coat rack in his room that has hooded sweatshirts (known as jackets here in California), a scarf, hats, and a pair of suspenders.  After nap the other day, Enzo was throwing a big fuss about putting on everything on the rack.  He tried on every hat (which he has about 10), and then insisted on everything else.  By the time he got one jacket, a pair of suspenders, a scarf, hat, and boots, he was finally happy and started running around the house completely happy with his appearance (I was so proud of him for starting his own trend ;) )....

Later that same day, after I convinced him to strip off some of his clothes (he was really sweating from all the layers), I was on my computer and he was in Eva's room playing.  I kept hearing him making a "Mmm" sound, followed by little smacking lips.  I was curious to know what he was in to, hoping he didn't find an old snack tucked away that he was working on, but my heart just melted when I saw what it really was.  He picked out one of Eva's baby's, put her in the high chair, put food in a pot and kept walking over to the baby, taking the pancake out of the pot and putting it up to the baby's mouth, making the "Mmm" sound and smacking lips to pretend she was eating the food.  OMG, how stinkin' cute!!??

Last week in class, I just fell in love with watching him play with all the toys.  It wasn't anything new, but the way his mind works just fascinates me every day.  How he chooses what to play with, how he chooses to play with it, how well he understands the mechanics, I just love watching it all, and then with his hair spiked and his little man clothes, I just melt...

And, here's our stud posing for a practice shot for mommy...

Eva is still in transition of not getting a nap.  Its going surprisingly well, but there are days here and there where it will come to be about 5pm and she just can't keep her head up.  At this point, if I let her even get a small catnap it will ruin her night sleep so I try to keep her awake.  But, the other day, she literally could not keep her eyes open.  We walked into the house and I told her to find her blankets and about 3 minutes later, I kid you not, she found her blankets behind the couch and just crashed right out...

When she's not fighting off her nap, she is almost always in princess mode.  Her absolute most favorite thing to do is role play, but princess role-play is her go-to for enterainment.  She can turn any job into a princess job, such as "princress grass cleaning" (as she calls it)...

Over the weekend, she was really happy to spend some quality time with Daddy.  We went to our annual neighborhood street fair, where we checked out all the vendors...

And then met up with our friends, where Eva and Jacob could go on rides together.  They got tickets...

riding every ride that their height would allow them to ride.  They sure had fun together.  Of course, I got a picture of them riding the elephant, which was Eva's very first ride that she ever went on by herself (without mommy or daddy) at last year's fair...

Luckily, though, we spent most of our time at the 7-11 at the end of the fair, where they had a free bounce-house that the kids played on for probably over an hour, while the dads got a bunch of free swag and the mom's just bounced our "twins" from one mom's arms the the others.  LOL  (yes, people often think Enzo and Lucy or Eva and Jacob are twins--and we just roll with it)
